It’s been a while between drinks, but I’ve managed to get my backside into gear and write another guest post. I return to SEO 2.0 today to write a sequel to my sex, permission marketing & social media article. As luck would have it… that post was incredibly successful and helped Tad increase his subscriber base by 100 overnight. So I dissect the post and give my best guess at to why it was a subscriber magnet.

Have you ever wanted to jump into bed with a particular blogger? Hang on, hang on… before everyone yells out a collective nomination for Sexy SEO, I should clarify that I’m talking metaphorically. Despite the smutty nature of my last post I won’t be delving too deeply into the bedroom today. Instead, I’ll be concluding my guest blogging series by explaining how donating guest posts to fellow bloggers can build deeper relationships and strengthen your social network.
I’ve dropped an ultra naughty guest post today on Tad’s SEO & social media blog - SEO 2.0. In it, I ask the age old question - what do sex, permission marketing & social media have in common? If you want to know the answer, you’ll just have to head on over to Tad’s fine blog and check it out. And who knows, you might even pick up a few tips on how to get lucky…

If you’ve followed my blog for the last few weeks, you’d be aware I’m on a grand mission to spread guest blogging love across the universe. Last week I spoke about how to use guest blogging to attract new readers to your blog. Today I’ll be discussing how guest posts can be used to enhance your organic search engine rankings.
Ok… please excuse me for this incredibly self indulgent post. But I was a little excited when I read SEO Moz’s weekly roundup via my RSS reader this morning. My guest post on SEO Scoop was the sole recipient of a 5 star rating this week, which is a huge honour from one of the most credible sites in the industry.
Which just goes to show the value of guest blogging once again (I know… I sound like a broken record). It is highly unlikely the SEO Moz crew would ever have found the post on my blog. But donating it to Donna allowed my work to reach a far broader audience. And the benefit - a super piece of personal branding via the much loved SEO Moz crew. Money can’t buy that reference. Huzzah!
In case you hadn’t noticed, I’ve been on a bit of a guest blogging mission lately. My buddy Ken Jones has playfully dubbed it the ‘James Duthie world tour’. And while the frenzied tour hasn’t finished just yet, I thought I’d pause for a moment to explain the reasons why I’m intent on invading as many digital marketing blogs as possible. As it turns out, I couldn’t fit that explanation into a single post. So over the next couple of weeks, I’ll be publishing a series of posts outlining the benefits of guest blogging, including real data from my experiences. So… without further adieu, I interrupt my guest blogging schedule to discuss… guest blogging.
Howdy partners. My guest blogging frenzy continues today over at SEO Scoop. Donna was kind enough to provide me with my first guest posting opportunity back in February, and now I return with a new post. Today I put my blog up against an SEO blog to see which generates a more engaged readership. The objective is to answer the burning question - what delivers better quality traffic - search engines or social media. The outcome is very interesting.
