Just a quick post today to celebrate the loss of my PageRank virginity. It seems the Googlebot has finally decided to recognise my humble little blog. Now… I know that little green bar within the Google toolbar means very little… my good pal Dave told me so. But I do still tend to believe toolbar PageRank contributes to the social proof that influences perceived authority, just like Jonathon Fields wrote earlier this week (super article).
So a quick huzzah to me for reaching PageRank 3 within 4 months of launching the blog. Not bad considering I’ve done diddly squat to optimise the thing. Methinks it’s time to unleash the optimisation beast within…

Yeah, I made that same jump a little while back (the actual domain I have has been registered for ages, which I understand helps). Because of a couple of issues I haven’t updated all my permalinks with the WordPress migration though, so interesting to see what effect there might be. The old blog.aspx page has a 301 redirect though, and that page and the root were the only two pages that had the PR3.

Thanks Lucio. Looks like I caught up to your PageRank is a couple of months
Welcome to the PR3 club Robin. We should chuck a party… hehe.
